Jewish music

From klezmer music to hassidic or Yiddish songs, from Judeo-Arab and Judeo-Spanish songs to art and synagogal music, Jewish music is as much diversed as it is composite. It is defined by the experience of the diaspora, meeting point of ideas and cultures. Thus there is not one but many Jewish music"s", each one of them issued of a history and specific cultural environment.

To preserve this music and to show it today, in order to nourish the musical heritage of tomorrow, that is the goal of the European Institute for Jewish Music.
